About College:

The Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak has been established by an Act of the Parliament of India. It came into existence by the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University Act, 2007 and came into action on July 2008. The jurisdiction of the University extends to the whole country and it is fully funded by the Central Government through the University Grant Commission. The university caters to the tribals’ long cherished dream of higher education.

Eligibility:

(a) The candidates who have passed Bachelor‟s Degree and/or Master‟s Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/ Humanities with minimum of 50% marks or Bachelor in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with minimum of 55% marks from a recognized Indian or foreign University / Board (as per the AIU foreign equivalence list) or any other qualification equivalent thereto are eligible to apply.

The question paper shall consist of two sections-A and B. Section A shall consist of 25 questions on General Ability. Section B shall consist of 75 objective type questions from subject specific in the following areas: Chordates, Non-chordates, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Tools and Techniques of Biology, Physiology, Developmental Biology, Animal Behaviour, Evolutionary Biology, Molecular Biology, Principles of Genetics.

Candidates having B.C.A/B.Sc./B.Com/B.A. degree with Mathematics as one of the subject at 10+2 level or graduate level from a recognized Indian or foreign university (as per the AIU foreign equivalence list) having secured a minimum of 50% aggregate in case of General and OBC categories and 45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories are eligible to apply.

To pass the entrance exam conducted by the University the candidates belonging to General and OBC categories have to secure a minimum of 45% marks and candidates to belonging SC/ST categories have to score a minimum of 40% marks.

Entrance Exam Pattern:

The Question Paper consists of 100 objective type questions to test the candidates‟ knowledge in the domain subject of Computer Science.

How to Apply:

Information on Submission of Applications:

The Candidates are required to apply online through the website. They are required to have a valid personal e-mail ID and a mobile number. They should be kept active till the completion of the programme, if admission is granted. In case a candidate does not have a valid personal e-mail ID, she/he should create a new e-mail ID before applying online. Candidates are required to upload their recent photograph and signature. Before applying online a candidate is required to have a scanned (digital) image of his/her photograph and signature. Candidates can pay the application fee through Bank Challan. The Bank Challan is generated after filling the online application form and she/he can deposit the fees in the following University‟s account Number. State Bank of India through any nationalized Bank (NEFT mode) on the next working day. One day after the payment is made the candidate can take the print out of the application form by using the username and password. The applicants are requested to submit the application forms and required documents to the University at the time of admission.

Payment: Rs. 300/ for General/OBC and Rs. 100/-for SC/ ST/ PH along with the bank service charges

Important information for students

·         The students who have already finished their UG are not eligible for UG courses.

·         The students who have already finished their PG, are not eligible for PG courses.

Applications are to be submitted only by online. Online applications can be made from 10.04.2019 (Wednesday) onwards. The applicants can visit our website www.ruraluniv.ac.in for prospectus and instructions for submitting the online applications. The candidates are advised to read carefully and follow the instructions given in this prospectus. Before applying for admission, the candidates are advised to ensure eligibility as per the criteria laid down for each programme of study. Before submission of online application, the candidates should register for admission enabling generation of username and password which will be sent through email and SMS to the candidates. At the time of online registration the following details should be furnished.

·         Name followed by initials (as per the Higher Secondary mark statement)

·         Date of birth

·         Valid email-ID

·         Mobile number

It may be noted that the details such as Date of birth, email ID and mobile number cannot be changed after registration.

After successful online registration, the candidates can access their login in the portal and proceed to fill up the application form. The applicants are required to make the payment through Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking. Fee once paid will not be refunded on any account. After final submission, the data entered online cannot be modified.

Candidates can check the status of their application in the University website by using their login ID allotted to them.

Facilities are also available for making online application at the Computer Centre of GRI in Gandhigram.

Appearing for the ISBF Entrance Test (iMET)

iMET tests a candidate’s ability to reason logically and apply concepts and techniques learnt in Mathematics and English up to Class X (based on the syllabi of the major Indian Boards).

Candidates who perform well in the iMET will be shortlisted for the Personal Interview (PI).

Appearing for the Personal Interview (PI)

Candidates shortlisted on the basis of iMET will be invited to appear for the final step of the admission process – the Personal Interview (PI).

In the PI, a candidate is tested for attitude, motivation, communication and academic curiosity. The candidate’s past record, academic as well as co-curricular and extra-curricular, forms the main basis of the PI discussion.

All PIs will take place in person, either at the ISBF Campus in New Delhi or at pre-declared centres across India.

Filling the Application Form:

You may fill the ISBF Application Form online or offline. The application fee is INR 2,500.

Scholarships

There are three kinds of scholarships available for every candidate.

At the time of Admission:

ISBF Scholarship is available at the time of admission, i.e. for the first year of study and can continue for the second and third year, subject to the awardee maintaining a stipulated level of academic performance. It comprises a waiver of up to 50% of the ISBF Tuition fees. It is awarded on the basis of merit and need, measured by the candidate’s performance in the iMET and PI, as well as need.

Admission Procedure

Interested candidates are required to submit their applications in the prescribed application form with all supporting documents.

For open category candidates written test and an interview shall be conducted. The written test shall have three components namely English ability, Analytical ability and Natural Resource Management aptitude. The Institute shall set a cutoff limit for the written examination. Candidates qualifying the written test shall be invited for the interview. Based on the performance in the interview a merit list of suitable candidates will be released for admission. The UGC/CSIR/ICAR- NET qualified candidates and candidates with PGDFM from IIFM with a minimum of 3.0 OGPA shall be exempted from written test and shall be directly called for interview.
