Meeting the minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee admission into the PhD programme. In addition, Departments may set specific admission criteria for shortlisting. Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for an admission test, which may comprise of a written exam and/or interview. Candidates admitted with qualifications like M.Sc., B.E., B.Pharm. M.A. etc. will be required to do course work on admission to the programme.

Candidates will be shortlisted based on an order of preference (starting with the first) provided by them in the application form. An application not shortlisted based on the first preference of a candidate would then be considered for admission based on his / her second preference and so on (only if subsequent preferences are indicated in the application form). It may be noted that the final decision on admitting candidates to the PhD programme will be taken by the Admission Committee and will be binding to all.

Financial assistance

Full-time PhD students admitted into the PhD programme are eligible to be considered for an Institute fellowship of Rs. 28,000/- or 31,000/- per month in the first year based on their intake qualifications. Students admitted with M.E./M.Tech./M.Pharm./MBA/M.Phil. or a Degree equivalent to the Higher Degree of BITS Pilani are eligible to receive an Institute fellowship of Rs. 31,000/-. Students admitted with M.Sc./B.E./B.Pharm. or an equivalent degree are eligible to receive an Institute fellowship of Rs. 28,000/-. These students on successful completion of coursework will receive Rs. 31,000/- from the Semester following the one in which the course work is completed. Higher fellowship will be made available in subsequent years. Consideration for Institute fellowship will be as per Institute norms. It will be obligatory on the part of every admitted Full time student to undertake 8 to 10 hours (per week) of work as assigned to him/her by the institute.

How to Apply:

Application Process

1.    The Admission portal to apply online opens on 3rd June, 2020.

2.    Interested and eligible candidates should apply through the prescribed application form available online at https://www.bitsadmission.com/phd/index.aspx. Hard copy of the application form is not required to be sent. Candidates are advised to take a printout of the filled form and retain it for further reference.

3.    Candidates will need to register online prior to filling the application form. A registered mobile number and email ID will be required to generate a username and password essential for filling the application form.

4.    While filling the application form online, candidates are required to give preferences of the campus or campuses to which they wish to apply for. Please refer to Department openings with regard to Full and Part-time student admission prior to filling the application form.

5.    The completed application form along with the prescribed application fee should be submitted online before the given deadline. Detail on modes of Fee Payment will be available while applying online. Campus preference and priority cannot be changed once the application form is submitted.

6.    Deadline for submission of the completed application form online is 5.00P.M. On 30th June 2020.

7.    A non-refundable application fee of Rs. 2600/- is payable at the time of submission of the online form.

8.    A candidate can submit only one application form for PhD admission. However, if a candidate discovers any mistake in the form to be submitted by him, there will be an edit option which will be made available before the final submission of the application form, which he/she can make use of to incorporate necessary changes. This option will be available only till the deadline for submission of the form, i.e. 5.00 P.M. on 30th June 2020.

The Army Institute of Management, Kolkata is one of the leading management schools in India. Minimum qualification for admission to MBA programme is Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with 50% marks, recognized by the Association of Indian Universities. If the Bachelor’s degree is done through distance mode then the affiliated institute & the university must be within the same state. Such candidate should produce Bonafide Certificate & Fee Receipt at the time of registration at AIMK. Candidates, who would be completing all requirements for bachelor’s degree by 30 June, can also apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally and will be required to produce evidence to establish their eligibility by 31 August. Those, failing to comply with the above criteria, will have to withdraw from the programme. 

AIMK Eligibility Criteria

Candidates, who appeared in CAT would be called for Group Discussion & Personal Interview (GD & PI ). Two separate (one for Army and another for General) merit lists of the students will be prepared for GD & PI. The same is to be sent to the Chairman for approval. After approval, students of the merit list will be intimated individually. 

Eligibility for Army Categories

The admission to the AWES Professional Colleges is for the children of eligible serving Army personnel, eligible ex-Army personnel and war widows of the Army. The children of following categories of Army personnel are eligible and they are required to submit the relevant certificate as given against the category applicable to them as proof of their eligibility for admission to AWES Professional Colleges along with the Application Form

How to Apply:

Application Form

Candidates desirous of seeking admission to AIM, Kolkata can obtain the Application Form for MBA programme either from the AIM, Kolkata website www.aim.ac.in or from the Admission Office, AIM, Kolkata by hand. Candidates, who are willing to take the application forms from the Admission Office, need to pay Rs 500/- for Army wards and Rs 600/- for General category in cash. A demand draft for Rs 500/- for Army wards and Rs 600/- for General category, in favour of 'Director AIM' payable at Kolkata, will be deposited by the applicants who are submitting the application form, downloaded from the website. The application form will be submitted on the assigned date as suggested by Admission Authority. Rs 200/- will be added as late fee, if the application is submitted after the assigned date.

N.B. The above-mentioned fees are non-refundable 

Group Discussion / Personal Interview (GD/PI)

Candidates who qualify in CAT will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview at Kolkata on merit basis. Candidates will have to meet their own travel expenses and arrange for their own boarding and lodging. The list of shortlisted candidates is usually published in the website during 2nd week of February every year. The GD&PI is generally conducted during the 2nd week of March at Kolkata. The exact dates will be published on the website and will be communicated individually through call letters. Candidates are required to check into the Institute's website for dates of GD/PI and they must not wait for call letters. The candidates will have to produce their CAT admit card for GD/PI.

Selection

Selected Candidates will be intimated who will be required to pay online a sum of Rs 60,000/- through SBI-Collect as acceptance of offer along with the willingness certificate. Detailed method to be followed will be intimated through email & letter. The amount will be adjusted against the tuition fees, which has to be paid at the time of registration including fees of first semester once the candidate is admitted.

We believe that true talent cannot be judged on the basis of the score granted by any entrance exam. Hence, we do not have a cut off score below which if the candidate scores cannot apply to the program.

·         For joining the Executive Batch, the applicant should have a minimum of 2 years industry experience, as a full-time employee in a Company and should be able to support that with relevant documents.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

WRITTEN EXAMINATION

We accept management examination test scores such as CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT/MAH-CET test scores. However, as management examination test scores are issued to the students, any student who has appeared for the management examination test examinations can apply for our courses . Thus, all the four Management institutes will accept management examination test scores. However, the management examination test and scores will be equalized and validated to the CAT score value and that will only be counted for the purpose of merit list. It is not necessary that these scores should be attached to the Application form at this stage. These scores sheets can be dispatched so as to reach us latest by 28th March 2020. Anyone having any objection to the same, need not apply. We do not believe in any cut-off points as we give only 35% of the weightage for the entrance examination while making the merit list.

GROUP DISCUSSIONS

Candidates who fulfill the qualitative requirements will be called for the Group Discussions by experts. This will be for a duration of 30-45 minutes per group. This may include role play, case studies, and extempore speech and GD. 35% of the weightage in the merit list will be given to the GD process. Therefore the GD process may extend to the second day although all efforts will be made to complete the process in one day. This is an elimination round.

Essay Writing as integral part of interview process. Written Communication Skill is very important for any one to succeed in the industry. Therefore, the applicants will be required to appear for an essay writing exercise on a subject, which will be given on the spot in the selection centres. This will be for 30 marks and fifty percent of the marks will be counted . This essay writing will be for half an hour. The topics will be general in nature and any one who follows the National Newspapers can easily appear for the same and score good marks.

PERSONAL INTERVIEWS

This expert panel interview and the essay marks will carry 30% of the weightage . This panel will assess the candidates on various parameters including the suitability of the candidate for a particular specialization. The panel will also give opportunity to the applicants to add or delete course options.

Duration: 5 years

A candidate who has passed 10+2 examination from Punjab School Education Board or any other equivalent examination recognized as such by the Punjabi University, Patiala, securing at least 45% marks vide Punjabi University Letter No.216468/Meeting-4 dated 7 May 2004. The applicants, who have obtained 10+2 through Open University systems directly, without having any basic qualifications for pursuing such studies, are not eligible for admission in Law Courses.

1.    The applicants appearing for the qualifying examination in March/April 2020 are allowed to take the Entrance Test - 2020 provisionally, subject to the condition that their candidature shall stand cancelled in case they do not pass the 10 + 2 March / April Exams 2020 with the required percentage of marks.

2.    Candidates passing the compartment papers of qualifying exam of 10 + 2 subsequently shall not be eligible for admission even if a seat is available.

3.    In case an applicant has passed a qualifying examination from Board/University whose degree has not been notified as equivalent to the Punjabi University, Patiala, he/she will have to produce the eligibility certificate from Punjabi University, Patiala at the time of interview, failing which his / her candidature shall not be considered.

4.    Candidates whose declaration of results is delayed should apply well in time to the concerned Board of examination to forward a confidential result directly to Principal, Army Institute of Law, Mohali, Punjab. The responsibility to ensure its timely dispatch will be that of the candidate. Delayed receipt of result shall render the candidate ineligible for admission.

Admission Process

(a) Admission to 60 seats for wards of army personnel will be done through the Online Law Entrance Test (LET) conducted by AIL.

(b) Admission to 04 seats in the All India Category will also be through the Online Law Entrance Test (LET).

Pandit Sundarlal Sharma (Open) University (PSSOU) Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur was established by the Chhattisgarh legislature in the 55thyear of the republic of India.
