About College:

Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) were created in 2006 through a proclamation of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, to promote quality education and research in basic sciences. Soon after the announcement, two of these institutes at Pune and Kolkata, respectively, were started in 2006. This was followed by an institute at Mohali (2007) and at Bhopal and Trivandrum in 2008. Each IISER is a degree granting autonomous institution with a prime focus to integrate science education and research, with a motive of attracting bright students and world class faculty.

About College:

The history of the IIT system dates back to 1946 when a committee was set up by Hon'ble Sir Jogendra Singh, Member of the Viceroy's Executive Council, Department of Education, Health and Agriculture to consider the setting up of Higher Technical Institutions for post war industrial development in India. The 22 member committee headed by Sri N.R.Sarkar, in its report, recommended the establishment of four Higher Technical Institutions in the Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern regions, possibly on the lines of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, with a number of secondary institutions affiliated to it. The report also urged the speedy establishment of all the four institutions with the ones in the East and the West to be started immediately. The committee also felt that such institutes would not only produce undergraduates but they should be engaged in research, producing research workers and technical teachers as well. The standard of the graduates should be at par with those from first class institutions abroad. They felt that the proportion of undergraduates and postgraduate students should be 2:1. 
With the above recommendations of the Sarkar committee in view, the first Indian Institute of Technology was born in May 1950 in Hijli, Kharagpur, in the eastern part of India. Initially the IIT started functioning from 5, Esplanade East, Calcutta and very soon shifted to Hijli in Sept. 1950. The present name 'Indian Institute of Technology' was adopted before the formal inauguration of the Institute on August 18, 1951, by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. IIT Kharagpur started its journey in the old Hijli Detention Camp where some of our great freedom fighters toiled and sacrificed their lives for the independence of our country. The history of IIT Kharagpur is thus intimately linked with the history of the Hijli Detention Camp. This is possibly one of the very few Institutions all over the world which started life in a prison house.

The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad, was founded in 1958 as the Central Institute of English (CIE). The Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE),   Kariavattom, P. O Thiruvananthapuram is a part of the academic wing of the Sports Authority of India (SAI). The college is affiliated to University of Kerala and it aims to serve as a model institute  for teacher's training by offering undergraduate and post-graduate/ research courses. Eligibility:

·         For admission to the B.P.Ed Course, the candidates shall fulfil the following conditions. Graduation with 45% marks and at least 3-years of Teaching experience (for deputed in-service candidate i.e. trained Physical Education Teachers/Coaches).

·         If a women student admitted to B.P.Ed. course gets married and is found medically unsuitable at any stage of the program, have to discontinue the program

Age Limit:

Should be below the age of 25 years as on 01st July of the year of admission; Age relaxation will be given as per University rules to eligible categories.

Total 50 Seats [Men – 30, Women – 20]

Note: Rank list shall be published separately for men and women. Reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC candidates shall be done as per rules of the State/Central Government whichever are applicable

Application Form for LNCPE BPEd Admission 2018:

·         All eligible candidates desirous of seeking admission to BPEd Course should admit their application form duly filled in before the last date prescribed. The candidates will be formally called for admission tests on the dates prescribed through a call card/College Website.

·         Application form can be had from the Office of Lakshmibai National College Physical Education, Trivandrum on remittance of Rs.400/- or downloaded from website and a DD sent for Rs.400/- drawn in favour of Principal, LNCPE payable at Trivandrum.

·         Those who wish to obtain the application form by post shall send DD for Rs.500/- drawn in favour of Principal, LNCPE payable at Trivandrum with full postal address. Each application for admission must be made in the prescribed form downloaded from the College website or on attached with the hard copy of prospectus.
