About College:

Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, HBCSE is a National Centre of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai. The broad goals of the Centre are to promote equity and excellence in science and mathematics education from primary school to undergraduate college level, and encourage the growth of scientific literacy in the country. To these ends it carries out a wide spectrum of inter-related activities, which may be viewed under three broad categories: (a) Research and Development, (b) Teacher Orientation and Science Popularisation, and (c) Olympiads and other Students' Nurture Programmes. Eligibility:

M.Sc. (in any subject), M.E., M. Tech or a Master's degree (M.A./ M.S.W.) in any of the social/ behavioural sciences/ psychology/ linguistics/ sociology/ economics/ anthropology, M.Ed. with a science or social sciences/humanities undergraduate degree.

About College:

The ninth Indian Institute of Management was established at Ranchi in 2010. This was made possible with the extensive support of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and the Government of Jharkhand, working under the guidance of Ministry of HRD, Government of India. We started at a time when the management education world over was criticized for over emphasis on competition, aggression and achievement of results by any means. The biggest challenge was to revive the aura and exclusivity of classroom-teaching in an era ruled by the advent of technology in education as well. There was an evident void in terms of fulfilling the requirements of firms that employ management students. It was of utmost importance to re-build the curriculum so as to bridge the gap between what was taught and what was needed in the actual business circles. Moreover, it became all the more important to imbibe in students the feeling of returning to the society. We understood the need to incorporate right values in the young minds and also impart education relevant for an information age that encourages networking and collaborative advantage. Eligibility:

A candidate for the programme must have one of the following qualifications obtained from any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a university under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, or an equivalent qualification from an institution approved by AICTE, or any equivalent qualification from recognized foreign universities or institutions.

Master’s degree or Post Graduate Diploma or its equivalent in any discipline with first class

OR

B.Tech/ 4 Years Degree with 6.5 CGPA or equivalent

OR

Any professional qualification such as CA/ ICWA/ CS with a B.Com/ Degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks or equivalent grade point average.

In addition, the candidate must have secured a minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent) in all their public examinations starting with the secondary level. Work experience in industry or academics, though not mandatory, will be given due credit in the selection process.

Those who are appearing for their final year examination in the current academic year may also apply. However, their admission to the programme will be provisional subject to their successful completion of all requirements for obtaining the relevant degree before 30th June 2020.

Age Limit

A candidate must not be more than 55 years of age as on 30th June, 2020.

Selection Process:

Candidates who fulfill the above eligibility criteria stated above are required to take Common Admission Test (CAT) held by the IIMs. Alternatively, those who have qualified in GATE, GRE, GMAT and NET-JRF (UGC/CSIR) examinations can also apply in the relevant area of specialization. Scores of any of these examinations including CAT taken during the last two years (i.e., on 1st July, 2018 or after) will be considered valid for the admission in Ph.D. Candidates who have already obtained a one/two year full-time classroom-based Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) or in any specialized area of management (e.g., PGD in HRM, Agri-Business Management etc.) from any of the IIMs with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale or equivalent in last four years preceding 30th June, 2020 are exempted from this requirement, and can apply directly through the prescribed Application Form.

The candidates short-listed on the basis of their academic record and performance in the competitive examinations mentioned above will be called for a seminar and personal interview for final selection in April/May 2020 and the successful candidates will receive admission offer by the end of May 2020.

Eligibility:

·         Candidate for the Executive Ph.D.  of the Institute should have minimum 5 years of work experience by 31st March of the target year of education.

·         Candidate for the programme must have one of the following qualifications obtained from any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a university under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, or an equivalent qualification from an institution approved by AICTE, or any equivalent qualification from recognized foreign universities or institutions.

Selection Process:

Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of scores of standard tests, like, i) CAT OR ii) GATE OR iii) NET-JRF OR iv) GMAT OR v) GRE. Validity of the test scores for CAT, GATE, and NET-JRF will be 2 years (i.e. on 1st July 2018 or after), whereas that for GMAT and GRE will be 5 years (i.e. on 1st July 2015 or after).

The following categories of candidates are to be exempted from standard tests:

i.        alumni of PGP programs of IIMs or accredited institutions (AACSB/AMBA/EQUIS) with CGPA 6.5 out of 10 or equivalent

OR

ii.        Government employees with at least 10 years of administrative experience (central/state civil services/public sector banks/PSUs etc.)

OR

iii.        corporate executives/consultants/NGO professionals with at least 10 years of managerial experience

OR

iv.        management teachers with last qualification from a reputed institution and minimum 3 years of post-graduate level teaching experience

Based on the appropriate criteria, the list of candidates will be shortlisted for further processing and the shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview for final selection in April/May 2020.

Shortlisted candidates would be required to submit reference letters from two referees assessing the suitability of the candidate for the program. Referees may be superiors/clients/academicians having a chance to observe the candidate’s intellectual abilities, interest, and motivation.

About College:

The National institute of Financial Management (NIFM) was set up in 1993 on the basis of a proposal made by Ministry of Finance, which was approved by the Union Cabinet. The Union Cabinet envisaged that NIFM would begin as a training institution for officers recruited by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) through the annual Civil Service Examinations and allocated to the various services responsible for manning senior and top management posts dealing with accounts and finance in the Government of India. NIFM was to develop as a centre of excellence in the areas of Financial Management and related disciplines “not only in India but also in Asia.”

Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Finance)

Duration: 2 Years Full Time Residential Programme

Eligibility:

Private Participants/ Corporate Executives

(i)           Participants must have completed their Graduation with at least 50% in aggregate from an Indian University / institution recognized by Association of Indian Universities. Preference would be given to the participants having Professional Qualifications such as CA, CS, CWA, CFA, BE/B. Tech, etc.

(ii)          Candidates must have qualified in any one of the all India Common Admission Tests i.e. CAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, MAT or GMAT and submit the valid test scores not more than 2 year old

(iii)         The upper age limit is 30 years on the date of commencement of the programme

The decision of the Selection Committee of NIFM for selection will be final and no correspondence in this matter shall be entertained by NIFM.

Government Officers

1.    Minimum percentage of marks at graduation level should be 50%.

2.    The upper age of participant is 40 years on the date of commencement of the programme.

3.    Officers at middle/senior level working with the Central or State Governments, Public Enterprises and autonomous organizations belonging to State / Central Government or similar participants from foreign countries are eligible to apply for admission.

4.    Government officers/PSU officers are exempted from Common Admission Tests i.e. CAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, MAT, GMAT

For Government Sponsored Officers/ Candidates

The government sponsored candidates are eligible for direct admission to the full time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Finance). Candidates shall be shortlisted by the Institute and the shortlisted candidates and their sponsors would be intimated by 1st August, 2019. About College:

NITIE Alumni Association (NAA) has been functioning to maintain the alumni relations of NITIE amongst the past students. Maintaining a strong alumni relations program is essential to the growth and development of our institute. With this motive in mind, the Executive Committee of the NAA has approved a proposal to create a Corpus Fund from the Alumni of NITIE. The donations will be accepted for both specific projects and general purposes. General contributions will be credited to the corpus fund. The management of the fund will be looked after by a committee chaired by the director and comprising of two senior faculty members and two representatives of Alumni. To ensure that the alumni of NITIE continues to be closely knit, NAA organizes Regional Alumni Meets every year to facilitate better interaction amongst the alumni and to strengthen their links with the institution. Last year we had the Chennai alumni meet at the picturesque Buena Vista beach resort at Neelangarai beach. Despite a heavy downpour, games like beach football and Housie were played followed by an elaborate two hour lunch.

Sponsored Seats: Few seats in PGDPM are available for Sponsored Candidates. Sponsored Candidates must be from reputed Industrial Organizations/Academic Institutions. The Candidates must have aggregate* 60% marks at graduation in Engineering /Technology with two years of full time work experience as on last date of submission of application as prescribed in the advertisement. GATE score is not required for sponsored candidates. However, they are required to attend a written test and PI to be conducted at the institute. Sponsored candidates should also fill-in the Sponsorship Form available on the NITIE website. No teaching assistantship is available for Sponsored candidates.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

15% of the approved intake (in supernumerary quota) will be reserved for international students in the above PG programmes offered by NITIE. Entry level qualification shall be at par with that of Indian students as specified above and candidate should have a valid GRE score. Foreign candidate should have a valid TOEFL/ IELTS score also.
