The National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM) was established by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) at Hyderabad, in 1976, to address issues related to agricultural research and education management. Selection Process

Candidates applying for FPM at IMT Ghaziabad are required to take the CAT/GMAT/GRE/GATE/UGC-NET test. Test scores received during January 1, 2018, to May 31, 2020, will be considered valid. Applicants should submit a research proposal of about 5000 words in their area of research interest along with their application form. Shortlisted candidates will be called for selection process at IMT Ghaziabad in February/March 2020.

Financial Assistance

IMT-G will offer two modes of study under the FPM Program – Residential and non-residential program. Candidates who are not in a job or are willing to quit their jobs to pursue the program can opt for the residential mode. Such candidates will be paid a monthly stipend of INR 50,000 that covers all the costs in addition to being provided with a modest accommodation. No family accommodation would be provided to married candidates. Each candidate has to pay the mess charges as per IMT Ghaziabad rules. The stipend will be paid for a period of four years from the date of joining the program, or until the candidate joins employment, whichever is earlier.

Working Executives and Academics may opt for the non-residential program, for whom the classes will be arranged during the weekends. Such candidates will not be paid any stipend whatsoever, nor any tuition fee will be charged from them.

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines health as a state of complete physical, mental and social well being. Health is often defined as the absence of any diseases. Although our understanding of disease biology has grown rapidly in recent decades with the advent of modern technologies including proteomics and genomics, underlying mechanisms of many diseases remain obscure. Hence unraveling the biology of complex diseases is an extremely high priority requirement. Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology's (RGCB) Disease Biology Research does innovative research in cellular and molecular mechanisms of human, animal and plant diseases. The program is designed to make the institute a world-class research establishment in molecular and medical aspects of human, animal and plant disease biology integrating theory, modeling, simulation and experiential science encompassing disciplines such as biology, genetics, chemical biology, immunology and many other disciplines.

PhD program (January 2020 session) in various domains of disease biology

Eligibility:

1.     Candidates with a post-graduate degree in Life/Chemical/Agricultural/Environmental/ Veterinary/Pharmaceutical/Medical Sciences or with an MCI certified MBBS degree are eligible to apply.

2.     Only candidates who have completed their qualifying degree in all respects will be considered.

3.     Applicants with UGC/CSIR/ICMR/DBT/DST-INSPIRE fellowships must have a first class in their qualifying examination. These fellowships must be valid six months from the date of Advertisement.

4.     Applicants, who do not have any fellowship, should have a minimum of 70% mark (CGPA - 7.0) for the qualifying degree.

5.     SC/ST candidates should have a minimum of 55% marks (CGPA-5.5) for their qualifying degree.

6.     A limited number of Institute stipends will be available for those selected candidates without a research fellowship. This conditional financial support will be a subsistence allowance for an initial period of two years during which they will be strongly encouraged to seek their own fellowship from external agencies so that the PhD program continues uninterrupted.

7.     Upper age limit is 28 years as on the April 01, 2019. Age limit will be relaxed for SC/ST candidates as per Government of India Regulations.

The National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR), has been constituted as a non profit organization with the express objective of engaging in activities for the promotion of training, research, professionalism and skill formation at all levels of the construction and other allied industries. About College:

The Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, (DIAT) as it is known today, came into being as the Institute of Armament Studies in 1952 in the CME campus. In 1967, the Institute was renamed as "Institute of Armament Technology, (IAT)", which moved to its present location at Girinagar, Pune. From the relatively narrow scope of Armament Studies alone in the Fifties, the role of the Institute was considerably enlarged by the Defence R&D Council in 1964 and further in 1981. On the basis of accreditation by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Pune University recognised eight courses for the award of ME degree in 1980. In the year 2000, the Institute acquired the status of a Deemed University. IAT has been renamed as DIAT w.e.f. 1st April 2006.

Eligibility:

a)   Qualification

A candidate, seeking admission to the Ph.D. program, shall be required to have passed the qualifying examination securing at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA/DGPA. A relaxation of 5 % of marks may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non creamy-layer) / PWD - (Divyang) categories. The qualifying degrees are:-

a) Master of Engineering/Master of Technology (or equivalent) for Ph.D. in Engineering/Science.

b) Master in Science (M.Sc. or equivalent) for Ph.D. in Science

A candidate who has passed the qualifying examination with the requisite percentage of marks as prescribed above and who fulfill the following requirement may be considered for admission to the Ph.D. programme:-

a) Qualified in a national level test such as, CSIR/UGC NET , Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE), Rajiv Gandhi National fellowship, subject wise and category wise GATE/NET cut off will be decided by DIAT.

b)   Age limit

Not above 30 years as on 10th Dec 2019.

Relaxations as per GOI rules apply to SC / ST / OBC / PH applicants.

Note:-

·         The Institute shall implement the reservation policy in Ph.D. admission in accordance with relevant act of Parliament being in-force from the time.

·         A physically Handicapped SC/ST/OBC candidate shall not get double benefit of being an SC/ST/OBC as also a PWD candidate.

Selection: Admission to Ph.D. will be based on the performance in the entrance exam (written test) conducted by the department concerned followed by a personal interview.

Financial Assistance:

a)    The selected Ph.D. candidates against this admission notice, admitted as full-time Ph.D. students will be provided financial assistance as per Institute rules, in force from time to time. The Ph.D. students (who are provided Institute fellowship) will be required to assist in research and teaching activities for a maximum of 10 hours per week in addition to their own duties.

b)    In addition to the Ph.D. scholarship, such candidates would also be entitled for contingency grant (presently `15,000/- per year) in accordance with the decisions of the Institute.

Boarding / Lodging:

Selected candidates will be provided hostel accommodation (Exclusive Girls Hostel available). Mess facilities are available on payment basis. The present monthly charges towards boarding and lodging are ` 7000/- (subject to revision). However, ` 40,000/- is to be deposited at the beginning of each Semester towards lodging and boarding charges, in advance. A security deposit of ` 10,000/- would need to be paid to Hostel Office. 

How to Apply:

Application form is available at Institutes website. Application fee of Rs. 500/- for General / OBC category (Rs. 250/- for SC/ST & Women candidates) per programme is required to be paid either online (through State Bank collect) or by Demand Draft drawn in favour of Vice Chancellor, DIAT, Pune, payable at Pune. The filled application form in the prescribed proforma has to be forwarded in a sealed envelope, super scribed “Application for Admission to PhD Programme in the Department of ______” to the Joint Registrar (Academics), Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, Pune 411025 along with the DD / online generated receipt and self certified copies of mark lists, certificates and other testimonials. These documents should reach DIAT latest by on or before 10th Dec 2019. Postal delay will not be entertained. Candidates seeking admission to more than one Department need to apply separately.

General Information:

·         Since the applications may be short listed, mere possessing of the prescribed qualifications would not entitle a person to be called for test/interview. The Institute may restrict the number of candidates to be called for test / interview to a reasonable limit, on the basis of qualifications / marks higher than that of the minimum prescribed in the advertisement.

·         For short listing of candidates, the department screening committee may decide subject-wise and category wise GATE/NET Cut off.

·         Application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and fees once paid will not be refunded on any count nor can it be held in reserve for any other admission process

·         Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification. Postal delay shall not be entertained.

·         No correspondence will be entertained in respect of advertisement, interview, selection etc. The list of Shortlisted candidate will be displayed on website along with other information viz. date of Interview / Written Test / Result. The candidates are requested to check the DIAT (DU) Website for related information from time to time.

About College:

Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) was established in the year 1989 as an autonomous institute under the administrative control of Govt. of Odisha. In 2002, it was taken over by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. The Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee dedicated the institute to the nation in July 2003. Institute of Life Sciences has a broad vision of carrying out high-quality multidisciplinary research in the area of life sciences. The goal is for overall development and betterment of human health, longevity, agriculture and environment. The stated mission of the institution is to work towards upliftment of the human society and generate skilled human resources for future India. These are achieved by undertaking cutting-edge research using state-of-the-art technologies in the fields of vector-borne diseases such as malaria and filaria, viral infections, cancer biology, allergy and auto-immune disorders, genetic disorders, and agricultural productivity. Eligibility:

Essential Qualification:

1.    Candidates should have passed their M.Sc./ M.Tech./ M.Pharm./ M.V.Sc. or equivalent qualification in life sciences and allied subjects (Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/ Biophysics/ Chemistry/ Microbiology, etc.) with minimum of 60% marks (or equivalent grade point). Candidates awaiting final results may also apply, however, if shortlisted, they have to produce their final mark sheet on the date of the interview, failing which they will not be interviewed.

2.    Candidates should have also qualified in CSIR/UGC-JRF or DBT-JRF or DBT-BINC-JRF or UGC-RGNF or ICMR-JRF or DST-INSPIRE or GATE or GPAT. If the original certificate is not available, the candidate has to provide a photocopy of the original admit card and the particular result page highlighting their roll number, along with the application.

3.    The candidate should be below 28 years in age, as on 31st December, 2019. An age relaxation of five years in the case of SC/ST/women/PH candidates and three years in the case of OBC candidates will be given (as per Govt. of India rules).

Application Fees:

Applicants except SC/ST candidates are required to send a non-refundable D.D. for Rs.500/- in favour of “Director, Institute of Life Sciences, Bhubaneswar” payable at Bhubaneswar along with duly filled-in application form by the date mentioned below, for each research area.

Fellowship: The fellowship and other emoluments will be as per the guidelines of the funding agencies - SERB/DST/DBT/CSIR/ICMR and as revised from time to time.

To and fro bus/rail fare by the shortest route limited to second class sleeper will be paid to all the candidates appearing for the interview.

Interested and eligible candidates may fill-up the prescribed application form as available in ILS website (www.ils.res.in). Duly filled-up application along with self-attested copies of all relevant certificates and demand draft should be send to the “Director, Institute of Life Sciences, Nalco Square, Bhubaneswar-751023.” The application should reach the Institute on or before the last date. Applications received after the last date will not be accepted. The envelope should be superscribed with “Application for Ph.D. Program in 1) Cancer Biology 2) Infectious Disease Biology or 3) Plant Biotechnology 4) Human Genetics”. Candidates must mention clearly ONE of the research areas for which they are applying. Candidates interested to apply for more than one research area should send separate applications for each research area, with separate fees.

List of candidates selected for the interview will be published in the Institute website.

Application to ILS-Ph.D. program does not automatically guarantee that a candidate will be shortlisted for interview. Director, ILS reserves the right to withdraw the procedure without assigning any reasons thereof.
